This year's theme for our symposium is 'Family Medicine and Primary Care: capacity building in Pakistan' with special emphasis on MERIT collaborations with Yaran e Watan and international coalition partners in the UK and Australia. The invited Guests from Pakistan Include Special adviser to the PM on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza, Chair, HEC Dr. Tariq Banuri, Member PM task force on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan, Head of NIH and AMCorps, VCs of Various universities across the country, Family Practice Academicians and National leadership. APPNA MERIT held its first International conference in March 2020 in Pakistan on Capacity building of Primary Care in Pakistan, successful in partnership with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) and Federal Ministry of Health. We were able to bring a large coalition of Family Practice leadership; Vice-chancellors, Deans and Rectors of Universities, and Head of Department of all Family Medicine programs across Pakistan. Followup meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Alvi brought the Family Medicine and Primary care in the National focus and created a momentum that must continue. We are inviting you to attend this symposium. While we understand the dire situation of COVID-19 in Pakistan and thus your busy schedule, we hope that you will take some time out for this important cause that is close to your heart. We do not want to lose the momentum that APPNA MERIT conference was able to create in March 2020. We appreciate your response at your earliest convenience.
